Mumbai, March 13, 2019: The Parag Initiative of the Tata Trusts has received the London Book Fair’s prestigious ‘Educational Initiative Excellence Award 2019’, out of nominations from 26 countries, as an intervention that influences education provisions and effectiveness to achieve wider access to learning.

Parag was chosen for the award for its innovative approach in spreading the joy of reading to children in Indian languages, and how reading in the mother tongue positively impacts their educational attainments. The awards, held in partnership with the UK Publishers Association (PA), celebrated publishing success in seventeen categories, representing the best publishing ambassadors, innovative publishing, and ground-breaking initiatives in the industry. The event highlighted the strengths of the global book industry and championed diverse innovations and creativity of those pushing the bounds of creative excellence in all forms.
