List something you miss the most about working from the office?

Now because of Covid19, we all are forced to work from home. While working from home isn’t actually that bad. We human beings always want what we can’t have and now when we know that we may have to work like this for another couple of weeks we have started missing our office.

The first thing that I miss is my usual morning rush of getting to work, dressing up for office, occasional excitement about what to wear or vice versa.

We are adjusting ourselves to working from home but there are just some things that can’t be replicated at home and this is what makes me to miss my office.

  • Having a proper, dedicated workspace- At home it gets difficult to stick to one place and work with proper dedication.
  • Face to face interaction and small coffee breaks with colleagues
  • Get together at lunch breaks- where we used to gossip while enjoying different varieties of food brought up by everyone
  • And most important the fact when you see people around you is working, it directly and indirectly boosts motivation within ourselves.

What are the management lessons from COVID19?

COVID-19 has transformed the working style of everyone – new modes of communication, new work patterns, and new team dynamics. But amidst all the change, there are invaluable lessons that we can learn from it;

  • Even the smallest move can lead to a major disaster- be aware of complexity and prepare. It could be related to missing the deadline of a project.
  • Focus on facts rather than opinion- decisions are benefited from the facts and case studies
  • Individual decisions can be risky; team discussions could help- teams with diverse opinions yield better and more robust outcomes than individuals.
What does your Home office space look like?

For me environment and organized things matters the most.

I have a ‘corner office’ at home. That consists of a table, where I place my laptop, collection of colorful pens, few books which prefer to read, and some cool stuff (soft toys) at my place that could help me in relieving stress and ultimately making me happy to work. And a plant is must for my work station.

Are you reading, drawing, writing, learning or anything or just lying around?

I like to read and write blogs especially on technology, we all are surrounded by technologies and it is good enough to know how it is affecting us in every way.

WFH, tell us what are your break time activities?

When you work hard, it’s important to take a few breaks throughout the day which I always struggle to take. Still, I have made a short list to do the things every time I take a break, sometimes it is doing workout, playing online games, talking to favorite person over call and last but not least reading non- fiction books.

One activity you will like to recommend everyone.

While we all are getting used to this new lifestyle of being in the house, we all are finding it challenging to work at home. And then there are many negative stories round the clock, making us to feel frustrated, low, worried or anxious, or concerned about our finances, our health or those close to us.

At this time it is healthy to take a digital break and engage ourselves in reading something good that is positive towards life or any inspiring stories to feel motivated and excited. One can find number of e-books or can also buy subscription from various online platforms. After all every situation is temporary and this too shall pass.

First thing you will do once you are set free.

I miss having momos with my friends and would definitely like to meet them soon, we have already made a list to do post lockdown.
