New Delhi: L’Oral India, a wholly owned subsidiary of L’Oréal SA promises to award scholarships worth Rs 2,50,000 each to 50 women students to help them complete their graduation in any scientific field in a recognised college or university.

L’Oréal India invites women students who have completed class XII in India to apply for the 13th edition of its ‘For Young Women in Science’ scholarship programme,said the company statement.”We at L’Oréal believe that ‘the world needs science and science needs women’.

The For Young Women in Science programme aims to provide aid and encouragement to young women who want to choose a career in science”, said Jean-Christophe Letellier, MD, L’Oréal India.

The L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science programme is an extension of the international L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science partnership and has enabled 200 young women, passionate about science, to achieve their dreams and aspirations of pursuing a career in science, the statement said.The eligibility criteria to apply for Young women who have passed class XII exams from across India must score a minimum of 85 per cent in PCM/PCB in the current academic year (ended March 2016), and not be more than 19 years of age as on May 31, 2016 are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

This scholarship is open for study in any field of science including medicine, engineering, information technology, pharmacy, biotechnology, and other graduate courses pertaining to science (B.Sc). Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by an eminent jury of scientists and academicians. Scholarships will be presented only upon securing admission,it added.
