“The healthcare industry in India employs 5 million people. However, the ongoing battle against Covid clearly points out to the fact that our country still faces a critical shortage of healthcare professionals. Indian students have always been one of the most meritorious in the world, however in many cases they face challenge in securing financial support to pursue their courses.

Since 2017, NSDL e-Governance’s Vidyasaarathi portal has facilitated scholarships for around 1000 students across 22 states and union territories who have been studying healthcare courses such as Bachelor of Pharmacy, MBBS, Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, Nursing-Master of Science in Nursing, etc. The scholarship amount has been between the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 1,00,000.

It has been our constant endeavour to support every student in fulfilling their dreams and we will continue to promote and provide for financial assistance via their Vidyasaarathi portal. We extend our support to our healthcare professionals across the nation to fight off COVID-19.”
