Odisha receives 62 proposals of 124 investment

Odisha has so far received 62 project proposals out of 124 investment intent proposals received during investors meets held at Mumbai, Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar last year.This is one of the highest rates of conversion of intents into proposals amongst all States in the country.

The state had received the investment intent of Rs.364,864 crore during these investors meet Out of 62 received proposals, 49 have already been cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority in less than 4 months period, the inter ministerial Committee held under the Chairmanship of state Industries Minister Niranjan Pujari was told.

Mr Pujari stressed the importance of setting up of world-class industrial infrastructure facilities for the investors in the State, implementation of progressive reforms to make it further easy for businesses to set up and operate in the State. He also suggested to establish employment intensive industrial units and reaching out to more investors and to inform them about the competitive advantages of the Sate for emerging as the ‘Manufacturing hub of the East Industry Secretary Sanjeeb Chopra said State has received significant investment in sectors such as Food Processing, Petro Chemicals, Chemicals and Plastics,Infrastructure & Logistics, Renewable Energy, Tourism and Health care.

The Intent of the State Government is to diversify and broad base the industrial development in various focus sectors in line with the Vision-2025 set out by the Chief Minister.The Committee focused on grounding and implementation of these projects in a time bound manner. Review revealed that more than 15 industrial projects were expected to have their ground breaking and inauguration in coming 3 to 4 months.
